The American Art Therapy Association has officially launched our new online job board, the Art Therapy Career Center. This will be your premiere resource for making online employment connections in the field of art therapy. Job seeking professionals can ensure their resumes are being seen by those in the industry who matter most to them. The Art Therapy Career Center offers job seekers free and confidential resume posting, automated weekly email notification of new job listings, and the ability to save jobs for later review. Conference Management - Request for Proposals
The American Art Therapy Association, a membership Association, is seeking effective conference management support for its 2011 through 2013 Annual Conferences.  Multiple search approaches are being pursued including a search for an individual to manage this function on staff.  The Association seeks an individual or firm specializing in sponsorship sales; training, event and conference planning for the non-profit sector.  Applicants must offer association conference management expertise with specific experience related to healthcare and education related conferences.  A strong customer service focus is vital.   Interested individuals and firms will find additional information including application instructions on our web site.  Please forward application materials to mmason@tpo-inc.com.  EOE

Institute for Continuing Education in Art Therapy (ICE/AT)

The Institute for Continuing Education in Art Therapy (ICE/AT) – an online distance learning center has officially opened!  

The Distance Learning Committee cuts the ribbon on the new Institute for Continuing Education in Art Therapy (ICE/AT) program!

ICE/AT will provide expanded professional development opportunities through online courses that help you earn continuing education credits and assist you in keeping your credentials current and increase your knowledge of the field.

A special thank you to the Distance Learning Committee’s commitment to ensure the Institute met the high quality standards for continuing education. The Committee is led by Rebecca Wilkinson, ATR-BC, Chair, and Ellen Horovitz, Ph.D. ATR-BC, LCAT, RYT, Board Liaison, and includes members Gioia Chilton, ATR-BC, Susan Corrigan, Executive Director, American Art Therapy Association, and Barbara Florence, Director, Development and Member Benefits.

Ambassador Program

Do you have any formal training in working with the media?  If so, we need you to participate in our new Ambassador Program!

We welcome your involvement in helping to communicate to the public, the media and others about the importance of the field of art therapy. The Ambassador’s Program is a database of art therapists who will serve as media contacts in their particular area of expertise or specialization.

Please send your resume and specialty area/s to ambassador@arttherapy.orgas soon as possible. Note that Ambassadors must be active members of the American Art Therapy Association and must be a licensed ATR-BC. Media requests are matched with Ambassadors according to geographic location and area/s of expertise. If selected to address an issue, you will be provided with information regarding the request and appropriate contact information.

A new news monitoring service is beginning in January of 2010. It will track all national media and it will be posted on our web site. You will be able to view the web site for a copy of the article in which you are quoted.

We hope that this new service enables you to get visibility for your expertise and the profession of art therapy. Please let us know if you’d like more information by sending an email to ambassador@arttherapy.org.
