American Art Therapy Association Annual Conferences


2013 ANNUAL CONFERENCE



We invite you to attend the American Art Therapy Association’s 44th Annual Conference in Seattle, WA, June 26-30, 2013. Our theme, Art Therapy: Creating Visual Expression and Healing, will focus on art therapy as an effective tool for promoting and supporting emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual wellness and recovery. It includes the focus on the power of the image and the ability of the creative process to promote integration, enhance self-awareness, and support growth and healing. This theme also encompasses the use of art therapy for the strengthening of community physical and social health. Early bird registration is now open. Click here to visit the conference website.

The 2013 Call for Proposal is Now Closed
 â€“ Thank you to those of who submitted a proposal, the review process is underway. Notification to those who submitted workshops and/or advanced practice courses should be completed in mid-November. Notification for all other session categories will be in December.

FUTURE CONFERENCE DATES

If an AATA chapter is interested in submitting a conference proposal site, chapter members many submit answers to the Prospective Site Proposal Questionnaire along with information about the proposed site city. The proposal should be sent to the Executive Director of AATA at least three years in advance of proposed conference date. The Conference Committee reviews all proposals submitted, and makes the selection. The site selection also encompasses geographic balance.
